The White Horse Challenge. News from the 2006 event

White Horse Walkers raise over £30,000 for Air Ambulance

The inaugural event took place in June 2006 and nearly 100 people from across Wiltshire and beyond walked either the full 55 mile Challenge or the family walk of 7 miles.

The second event in 2007 was equally successful and another significant donation was made to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal

2008 saw a huge variety of people taking part in a range of ways, from business teams, to groups of friends, to the Calne Scout Group who carried their flags and sang their way around the route.

Richard Edwards of Monahans and Clive Milner of Lawn Tender present a cheque
for £14,000 to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance along with members of the Calne Scout
Group.

The event organisers, Monahans, Rygor Commercials, Premier Global and Lawn Tender were delighted to hand over a cheque for £14,000 in 2008 bringing the total raised to over £30,000, which is a huge proportion of the amount the air ambulance needs each year to keep flying - it relies on public support.

Richard Edwards from Monahans said "we are delighted with the record breaking success of this years challenge, this year we saw record numbers of people taking part and more money raised than in either of the 2 previous years. Based on the success of this year we are looking forward to organising the fourth event in 2009.

The organisers and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who participated, helped promote the event, donated products or helped out with marshalling over the weekend.
