Local Partnership
delivers the house of the future at major
International constructions show.
Newly established Equihome has joined forces
with Newbury based ecoTECH to bring cutting edge
high-tech eco-homes to the UK. The ‘ORGANICS’
homes, featuring the latest Swedish technology,
will offer low energy and water use as well as
the latest high-tech energy saving appliances,
home management and entertainment gadgetry built
in. Prices will be kept affordable and
construction times will be reduced to days by
the use of innovative offsite construction
methods. The homes will be delivered to site and
fully finished ready to move in a matter of just
a few days. Fuel bills will be a fraction of
those with conventional homes.
These homes will feature as part of a major
international exhibition of the latest housing
technology at the Building Research
Establishment (BRE) in Watford between 11th-14th
June. (www.offsite2007.com)
Here, the whole construction industry will come
together to assess the latest designs and to
debate the way forward for the industry in the
face of global climate change.

is a great opportunity to both help address the UK
housing shortage and to provide the basis for an
affordable low carbon low energy lifestyle. We’re
delighted to be there amongst the major industry players
with a stylish world-beating product.”

Both Equihome and ecoTECH have been working closely with
BRE to ensure that their product meets the highest
standards. Kevin Scobell – Commercial Director at BRE
said: “Nearly a million new homes are needed in the UK
before 2016 and the Government has declared that all new
homes by then must be zero carbon by then. Products like
this one are essential to achieve these goals and BRE is
pleased to be working with cutting-edge companies like
this to help keep the UK at the forefront of sustainable
